Use the Gift He Has Given:

By: Nancy Condon (RIP)

Our Lord has given each of us a Powerful Prayer tool for Living in the Spirit.

When I was young we always searched for just the right gift to send to my grandmother. Years later each gift was found carefully saved--unused. What a disappointment to my family.

When we received the Holy Spirit He graced us with an opportunity to pray with Him for God’s Will in all situations we encounter. Are we grieving the Holy Spirit by neglecting to use this powerful tool of our Holy Spirit prayer language—tongues?

Beginning the day praying in tongues as we go through all of the necessary tasks to prepare ourselves—bathing, dressing, etc. is a perfect time to let our hearts, minds and entire being be flooded with Holy Spirit power! It also has a wonderful added bonus—we can be interceding for all of those on our hearts, all those He has assigned us to pray for, and more! If we simply set our will to use the first 15 minutes of each day as Holy Spirit Time to intercede for what God wants to do in Northern California, we will begin to see a chain of God-given miracles in many lives, many cities, throughout the area and beyond!

One of the best parts of praying in tongues is that we don’t have to keep our conscious mind involved—if we start it, the Holy Spirit will keep it going as we go about what ever tasks are necessary! What a Gift! Thank You, Lord Jesus! What an awesome privilege—to be able to join the Holy Spirit in praying God’s will as we continue our everyday activities!

Our Precious Prayer Language of Tongues can be used often and actively throughout the day as we go about various tasks, i.e. driving, walking, cleaning and many others, I even begin praying in tongues before reading. If I start, the Holy Spirit keeps it up and keeps out the distractions! I always pray in tongues while watching or listening to daily news broadcasts—it gives the Holy Spirit access to intervene in each life and situation, and it also keeps me from absorbing the negativity, fear and depression that accompanies some of the reports.

Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit by neglecting to use and reuse this precious and powerfilled gift He has given us. Don’t save your prayer language of tongues for a few minutes at a prayer meeting and then push it up on the shelf until next time. Use it every day, and all day and you’ll never be the same!

Open your heart to the Holy Spirit. Make a commitment to Him to use your prayer language a minimum of 15 minutes a day and watch miracles happen in you, around you and far beyond you! He can cover many things all at the same time, and He always prays for God’s best!

Why encourage the use of our prayer language of tongues so much?

Because as we use it more and more we experience what a blessed gift it is,

as a wonderful way to say “Thank You, Lord, I Love You, Lord” in the language He loves to hear. And you’ll experience His Love and His presence with you in ever-increasing abundance.

Tongues also opens us up to hear from God who is always eager to have us hear His personal word to us or give us a word of encouragement, comfort or inspiration for someone else. Praying in tongues is a way of saying “Here I am, Lord, use me!” and we can be a blessing to others. Also it will help us hear God’s wisdom in the circumstances of the day. Use it often and you’ll be opening your life for new and exciting relationship with our wonderful Lord! Try it you’ll like it!

Some say it is the foundation gift for releasing the other charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit, (1Cor 12:4-11)

The more you use your gift of tongues the more it will develop, and the more you will increase in your walk in the Spirit on an everyday basis.

If you have not yet experienced your prayer language of tongues, ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray in tongues, then have a prayer group leader or someone else who prays in tongues help you release your own unique prayer tongues.

It will never be exactly like anyone else but is a special Love Language between you and God and is filled with Holy Spirit power. Don’t neglect to develop this precious gift in your life.

May you continue to grow in your Holy Spirit prayer life as He does exceedingly, abundantly more than all we could ask or imagine. To God be the Glory in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Amen.
