I would ask all of you to keep my sister-in-law, Cathy, in your prayers over this first weekend of the new year. She has been involved with drugs for a number of years now and, without going into a lot of detail, she is at the point of having to make what is literally a life and death decision. Please pray that God grant her the grace and the strength to decide to live and to let others help her live. And please keep my wife, Janel, in your prayers as this whole situation has taken quite an emotional toll on her.

Please pray for my mother (Hilda) who is experiencing buzzing and dizziness in her head.

My dear friend Jenice is undergoing brain surgery right now. It's for a facial tick that has basically taken over the entire right side of her face for about 7 years now. Some of you may remember her when she was on the Praise Team many years ago at Shoreline. A Nero surgeon at USC found a blood vessel pressing on a nerve in her brain. She was wheeled in at 7:30 a.m. for surgery to relieve this pressure and to have a stint put in. I would appreciate your prayers that God and His amazing power will guide the hands, eyes and mind of this surgeon for a complete and successful surgery to put an end to this horrible thing she's had to deal with for all these years.

Does not have shingles and liver and kidneys are fine. however; received a call today asking for prayers. She is not feeling too good.

Please pray for Lianne. She is having pain and her doctor is taking blood

work now not sure if it it herpes or shingles. She has two benign cysts

in her kidneys and liver as well.

Per Lianne, Baby Cake is doing better and is getting stronger.

Lianne's 15 year old cat, Baby Cake, had a stroke. She is asking prayers for wisdom and guidance. Please pray for her and her cat. Also, Lianne had a double mastectomy, and the doctors want to do a scan to see if there is any more cancer in her body as well as treat her with chemo. However, Lianne says she does not want to do the scan or treatments. The good news is that the tumor removed from her stomach was benign.

I just came back from a short visit with Jim Santo in the ICU at St. Joe's. He is still weak but ready to talk to anyone, as usual. He can only last about 5-10 minutes and gets pretty tired.

The actual problem was an aneurism on the aorta in his stomach. It was leaking fairly bad but they were able to repair. Prognosis is fantastic. He will be in ICU/St. Joe's until at least this Friday, 12/9 at which time they will release him to go home.

As usual, he was in good spirits and loved having friends come and visit him. So, if you get a chance to go see him, please do but make sure you watch your time and his health.

Just got off the phone with Dan Thompson who talked to Chloe, Jim Santo wife. Jim is at St. Joe's in critical condition with a ruptured aorta in the stomach. Surgery will be difficult given Jim's age and weight. Keep him in your prayers and we will keep you updated as we know more.

Last update on Fran is she has a job now.

I have regretted for a long time not completing my college education. Since I have been unemployed for quite a while now and still actively trying to find work, I have noticed in that time many jobs I wasn’t apply for because of credentials I don’t have, even though I have the work experience.

I was asked, just the other day, if I could go back to school would I; I immediately said yes. Therefore, I have enrolled in college to get my Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting at South University . The amazing part is I can do this from home, no driving to a campus to feel too old because all the students are in their 20’s. No need to purchase books, as electronic books are included in each course (time to think about a Kindle or Nook, eh?) and all the courses are online! Even if I get a full time job, I will still be able to do the course work in the evenings and on the weekends.

While I still need to complete the admissions process...

please keep Isaiah in your prayers. He is one of my classmates in my geography lab class. Just found out tonight that about Halloween time he was attacked by a person that he never saw and they beat him on the head with a baseball bat. He had brain surgery and it is amazing that he is still alive. He came to my class today, and he does not appear to be like someone who was brain dead. They don't think he will have permanent brain damage. His skull was broken in 8 places and one of his main arteries was severed. Amazing he came to class with a sense of humor. He has pain,and loss hearing in one ear. Doctors say it will be a year for him to be back to normal. His equilibrium is off and they don't know if it will come back to normal. So please keep him in your prayers. My heart just sank when I saw him today, and it so disturbs me when I think about what happened to him.

I'm asking for prayer concerning my cousin, Cindy Nightengale who fell... breaking her ankle--due to diabetic complications.

They took half her knee cap yesterday and are operating on her ankle tonight or early in the a.m. tomorrow. She is diabetic and there is little to no circulation in her foot. She risks losing it her foot.

Several years ago her husband lost his leg and now is having problems with the other... he too needs prayer.

Please pray wisdom on the doctors and a manifestation of Jesus' healing presence to Cindy.

For God greater glory; in Christ Jesus - let healing happen body, soul and spirit!

My longtime and dearest friend has found out she has chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Her name is Lisa Bunce she is not much older than myself, married to Jeff and they have two sons Jeffery and Ian. Lisa's Father died from this two years ago. Although the disease effects mostly men when they are older it is not uncommon for it to attack younger women. Lisa is strong in her Faith and stressed out. My request is for prayer warriors to prayer for her strength during this time and peace and calmness surround her and her family.

Joe asked for prayers for work. He expects to be laid off soon.

Prayers needed for my Fluffy. She is not doing well. She has been diagnosed with cancer and has the begining stages of liver failure. The doctor told me to start preparing myself for putting her down. She ate today, which is good, but I don't know how much longer I will have her. Imelda, my friend, though she'd been very sick and has bloated tummy, was cleared from being hospitalized and could be given medications at home. This is a good development, and I can say it's because of the power of prayers. I never expected that she'd not be confined in the hospital because of her condition. God is so good, Janice. He surely listens. You are an angel, a good and thoughtful intercessor. I know the good Lord appreciates you for being so. So do I. May He bless you more and more, dear sweet and lovly friend.

Yes, my friends! All's well for now, but it's stated that the swelling and the bruising will be more pronounced by the 3rd to the 5th day, and that it's normal to bleed for 2 days in this case ... however, I'm not anticipating that for myself, because prayers do change course for the better always as far as I'm concerned as even now the bleeding has drastically gone down to just spotting ... not to mention the rules and recommendations I must follow, including on food, which I will prudently obey this one; also the antibiotic, of course. Right now, there's no pain at all and the last painkiller I took was the one they "imposed" at the hospital over 10 hours ago, soon after the surgery! Bless their good care, really! And, Praise and Thank You, Lord!

They found a small hole in Liam's heart. Please pray that it closes on its own within a few months (or even better, within a few days! my God is an AWESOME God!).

Although my appendix had ruptured, the surgeon said my recovery was surprisingly speedy!
I was just released earlier today and am resting much more comfortably at home.

I have a prayer request of everyone. A good friend of mine, Peter, who is the godfather of one of my children, was recently diagnosed with leukemia. He is in his early forties, married, with six young children. He is a good Catholic husband and father. He is just beginning his chemotherapy and they have high hopes that he will come through this with flying colors, although it is going to be a tough fight, especially this next few months. We just got word from John that her oxygen levels are dangerously low and that she had already asked not to be put on a respirator. She is at home with her children and family around her and has received the blessing of the sick, and seems to be fading fast, sadly.

Fran, Debi called and asked if you would add to your prayer chain a prayer for Ryan's sister-in-law, Sandy Genova. She is in the hospital with an infection that started in her vertebrae and has spread through her body. She isn't expected to make it through the night.

I guess a couple of weeks ago she had some kind of episode, but the doctor just sent her for physical therapy. Then either yesterday or this morning they called 911 and she is now in the hospital.

We met Sandy and her husband on Christmas at Ryan's house. They live in Phoenix and drove down for the day. A very nice couple, and I believe in their early 60's.

I guess it just proves we need to live each day as if it might be our last, and love God with all our heart without ceasing.

My mom, sounds like she is even better than yesterday. Thank you Lord! I really haven't been able to talk to her but for a minute. She has had too much company!!!!!!

Thursday her nurse told me she was very critical. By the next morning the nurse was noticeably overjoyed with her improvement, as she shared with me what was going on.

We will see where we go from here. Unless God changes things, the speculation is for one of the two procedures to follow. Jesus is Lord! That would be another hurtle.

Thanks again for your prayer and I assure you... everyone is looking up regarding my mother!

I have been battling anxiety disorder since childhood. Doctors tried medicine for me, & it was a far worse experience. I wake up from panic attacks & have them on a daily basis. I go to confession weekly, cause these attacks brings on a deep depression & guilt. I pray about it & offer it up everyday.
